Do you have an ABOVEGROUND Heating oil tank in one of the following Eastern Shore Counties?
- Queen Anne’s County
- Talbot
- Caroline
- Kent
- Dorchester
- Wicomico
- Somerset
(FYI – By Aboveground we mean either Outside, in Garage, or in the Basement or Crawlspace, but NOT completely buried in the dirt/below ground)
We understand there is a lack of qualified, experienced Heating Oil Tank contractors located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. So besides serving most counties on the western shore of the Bay Bridge, if you are located in one of the above counties, GreenTrax is also happy to help you with your oil tank.
If you do NOT need a new tank installed then just call us to get rid of your old tank and make sure it’s taken care of the proper way
Here are some Tank tips and information for you regarding your Above ground Heating oil tank.
- The lifespan of a tank is 20 years, so if you have a tank older than that, its time to replace the tank
- If you are not sure how old the tank is but you have lived in the house for many years (10+) and you have never replaced the tank, chances are its very old and probably need replaced
- The MDE (MD Dep. of the Enviro.) requires ANY Heating oil tank no longer in use, must be properly removed. Meaning the oil pumped out and properly disposed of and the tank cleaned and properly disposed of at an approved location
- There is no such thing as a “properly abandoned” aboveground oil tank. It can be removed either in whole or cut in pieces to remove
- Do not think just because the tank looks “OK” from the outside, that’s its in good condition. Tanks degrade & corrode from the inside out.
- If you convert to a new source of heat the tank must be removed
- Do not wait for the tank to start leaking – if its in the basement you do not want that smell of oil in your house. If tank is outside you may not notice the leak until the soil is contaminated and then additional money will need top be spent on cleanup
- Do not assume just because you have a service contract with the oil delivery or HVAC company that they are going to tell you if you need to replace the oil tank. Not all these companies offer that service, and even if they do, the individual may not have experience in oil tank replacements
If you need a NEW installation or a replacement Heating oil tank we offer many different options to suit your needs and budget.
- The most common size of Residential heating oil tank is a 275 gallon
- We offer smaller & larger tanks if your situation requires a different size
- We offer single wall, double bottom and double wall tanks
- The base model tank starts at a 1 year Manufacturer warranty with upgrades being a 25 or 30 year warranty
- We also offer tanks that come with insurance from the manufacturer against leakage
- You do NOT have to waste the good oil in your old tank, that can be transferred to your new tank with he sludge and junk in the bottom of your old tank being disposed of and hauled away
- We can install the new tank outside or inside
- The location of the tank has no bearing on the lifespan – meaning just because its inside doesn’t mean it will last longer. As we said, it degrades from inside out
- We can have the old tank removed and the new tank installed and your heat or hot water working back again the same day, most times in just a matter of hours
